Delete your OwnFit account

1. In-app deletion (preferred)
If you can sign in to OwnFit, delete your account directly from the app — it is the fastest path and authenticates the request automatically.
Web (trainers and other professionals): sign in at app.ownfit.it → Settings → Account → Danger zone → Delete account.
Mobile (athletes): open the OwnFit Athletes app → Profile → Delete account.
2. Email request (for users without app access)
If you cannot sign in — for example, your account is locked, you uninstalled the app, or you only contacted us through the marketing site — email info@ownfit.it with the subject "Delete my OwnFit account".
Include the email address associated with the account so we can verify your identity. We may ask for additional information sufficient to confirm you are the data subject before processing the request (GDPR Article 12(6)).
We respond within 30 days of receipt (GDPR Article 12(3)). Most requests are completed in under 7 days.
3. What gets deleted
Profile data (name, email, photo, role, settings).
Health and fitness data (body measurements, progress photos, workout history, exercise feedback) — soft-deleted on request and irreversibly purged after 30 days, including associated media files in storage.
Messages you sent, calendar events you created, notification preferences, push tokens, OAuth tokens.
AI personality settings and AI token usage records.
Active subscriptions are anonymised (linked customer reference cleared) but the underlying billing record remains for tax purposes — see the next section.
4. What we retain and why
Billing and invoicing records: retained for 10 years as required by Italian tax law (D.P.R. 633/1972 and D.P.R. 600/1973). These records are kept in pseudonymised form where possible.
GDPR audit log entries that document your past consent decisions: retained for the limitation period applicable to data-protection claims, kept separately from your active profile.
Aggregated, fully anonymised usage statistics that can no longer be linked back to you: retained indefinitely.
5. After deletion
You will receive a confirmation email once the deletion is complete.
If you change your mind during the 30-day soft-delete window, contact us — recovery may still be possible. After 30 days the deletion is irreversible.
You can create a new OwnFit account at any time with the same email address; it will not be linked to your previous account.
